• The JB's Of History

In a world where superheroes use intellect and special effects with an AK-47 to bring down the bad guys, you have to wonder how they determine the names of our much beloved heroes. JB seems to be the popular initials for years and years. It takes us back to the days of Bond, James Bond, to the more present Bourne, Jason Bourne. And our TV enigmas Jack Bauer, and Jack Bristow. Funny how these intellectual forces of nature are all in the 'intelligence' business. One way or another are related to 'The Company'. James Bond working for MI-6 (Britain's equivalent to the CIA), Jason Bourne (a rogue from a black-ops type CIA unit), Jack Bauer (CTU a fictional counter-intelligence unit), and Jack Bristow (CIA). You have to stop and wonder what the mystery behind "JB" could possibly be? Is it a psychological pull that we find ourselves attached so to these heroes? Or are people getting lazy and no longer care about creativity?
We can't lash out at producers, all they've given us is what we wanted in the first place. But it seems that like these initials, we always get the exact same story plot, interwoven into the films or television shows, and twisted until we call them 'unique', 'new', 'creative', or 'a redfinition of cinematic experience'. None of which, are for course, true.
Doesn't matter to us really, and we shouldn't analyze entertainment....really. We should just let them reuse old ideas, recycle, refurbish, and see if we can find something worthwhile.
